WHMIS Admin

WHMIS Admin is a new course intended for office staff and people in the workplace who do not have direct contact with products covered by WHMIS legislation. This is typical in a mixed use environment such as a manufacturing facility. There may be sales and office staff who are occasionally in areas of the facility where hazardous materials are used and stored. These employees still need a basic level of WHMIS knowledge on the WHMIS legislation, WHMIS Symbols, WHMIS Classifications, Workplace labels, and MSDS sheets.

WHMIS Admin includes the same modules of Basic WHMIS, plus an additional module which gives an introduction to the most common products found in an Administrative workplace environment. This module can be customized for your Administrative employee’s WHMIS requirements.

WHMIS (for) Admin is ideal in situations like a car dealership. The Mechanics and Body Shop employees can be trained using myWORKSPACE WHMIS on the specific products they work with. The Sales staff and other office employees that may enter the mechanical area or body shop need to have an understanding of WHMIS and the ability to read an MSDS sheet if they are going to be in an area where hazardous materials are present.

WHMIS Admin is not meant as a substitute for Basic WHMIS or myWORKSPACE WHMIS if the employee is working directly with hazardous materials.
