Hazard Identification training is an important part of meeting your employees’ Right To Know requirements. Employees have the Right to Know about hazards in the work place. And since most workplaces are in constant change, there is an ongoing need to know about Hazard Identification.
Hazard Identification is the second Module in a new safety orientation course, “Safe Person in a Safe Place: safety orientation”. This module assists in the development of hazard identification strategies that can be present in a workplace, and briefly describe the process for conducting job hazard analyses that can lead to the development of safe work procedures.
In addition to describing the process for hazard identification and risk assessment, it outlines options for the effective control of workplace hazards. It sets out the principles of hazard control, describes the different types of hazard control methods and provides information on how to choose and implement the most effective option.
When employees have a better understanding of “what is a hazard”, and the different types of workplace hazards, they have an increased awareness of safety prevention in the workplace. In addition to the basics of “what is a hazard” this program looks at a process for assessing risk of hazards and preventative methods for eliminating and controlling hazards in the workplace. Knowing options for eliminating and controlling hazards in the workplace can increase the effectiveness of your safety program by having everyone involved and working from a good understanding of both spotting a hazard and what can be done to prevent a workplace incident.
